There is a long-standing question in garment manufacturing:
Can the quality of a complex garment still depend only on the experience of one skilled operator?
For decades, many challenging processes have relied on craftsmanship accumulated through years of experience. Skilled operators understand how to adjust pressure, control fabrics and handle production details.
However, as garment styles become more diverse and production cycles become faster, manufacturers are facing a new challenge:
How can valuable experience be preserved? How can complex processes become repeatable?
This is driving the industry from experience-based production toward more standardized manufacturing.
At CTG Cambodia, ShangGong will showcase the M60 intelligent pattern sewing machine, exploring how digital templates and intelligent equipment can help factories manage, reproduce and scale complex processes more effectively.
Across eight major garment categories—including shirts, suits, jackets, down garments, trousers, fashion garments, knitwear and workwear—the ShangGong development team identified 77 challenging pattern processes. The M60 can cover approximately 95% of these processes, transforming experience-dependent operations into more stable and standardized workflows.
For demanding products such as down garments and outerwear, the M60 integrates intelligent presser-foot control and automatic seam-crossing functions to simplify operation and improve consistency across different skill levels.
By combining sewing and laser-cutting capabilities, the M60 also creates new possibilities for complex garment production.
The future competition of garment manufacturing will not only be about machine speed, but also about the ability to manage processes, preserve knowledge and maintain consistent quality.
How can factories keep experience, transfer skills and stabilize quality?
This is the direction ShangGong M60 continues to explore.
During CTG Cambodia, garment manufacturers, factory managers and industry partners are invited to visit the ShangGong booth and discuss how intelligent sewing technology can support the future development of garment manufacturing.
